WHAT YOU GET

A self-contained HTML tool and short start guide in a ZIP. Select PNG, JPEG or WebP locally, or type pixel dimensions. Choose inches/cm, print dimensions, a source-detail target from 72 to 600 PPI, and Fit or Fill. No installation, account, API or product subscription for local use.

TRY THIS ONE-MINUTE LESSON

For a 1200 x 800 pixel image and an 8 x 10 inch print at a 300 PPI target:

Fit keeps the whole image with borders, at around 150 source PPI.

Fill crops the edges to fill the page, at around 80 source PPI.

A 300 DPI label or enlarged export cannot restore missing original detail. Ask your printer about size, colour, bleed and required files.

1. Download and extract the ZIP.

2. Open Print_Readiness_Check.html in a desktop browser.

3. Choose an image or enter original pixels.

4. Set print size, units, target PPI and Fit/Fill.

5. Read the explanation of source detail, crop loss and borders.

LIMITS AND PRIVACY

This tool checks dimensions only: it cannot judge blur, colour, printer compatibility, artwork licences or a physical print. No resizing or image export. PNG/JPEG/WebP up to 20 MB and 40 million pixels; PDF and HEIC unsupported. Original-image dimensions matter, not a DPI label alone.

Images are read locally; no image upload, runtime API, account or autosave. An optional link opens Photopea's instructions separately. Automated geometry checks and Chrome image-selection/error tests passed. Direct local-file opening, wider-device/fresh-person checks and physical print quality remain unverified. Free review edition, not a printing guarantee.
