This is the story of pioneering 1960s psychedelic band Raspberry Parade, reputed to have heavily influenced Pink Floyd and others. Outrageously funny, bizarre and sometimes tragic, their story can be told at last. Years ahead of their time, the British band were largely ignored at home, yet they took San Francisco by storm. At the end of 1966, on the verge of success, they suddenly split up when a band member was found dead in suspicious circumstances. Raspberry Parade’s ground-breaking debut album was consequently never released. For half a century the band were confined to obscurity, remembered mostly for their legendary intake of hallucinogens.
