Three Hymns To Ra for Solo Viola

Three Hymns to Ra for solo viola is written for and dedicated to viola soloist Brett Deubner. This work is part of a set of four pieces that create an evening long program of music inspired by Ancient Egypt. The three hymns are titled Evening Prayer, Sacrifice and Rebirth. Each movement relates to a part that the soul takes as it journeys from the hour of death, battling the struggle in the netherworld and finally leading to rebirth.
