December 2021 - Lapwing has been updated, tech edited and test knitted again. It now includes charts, ideas for modifications, such as yarn, multiple colours, different yarn weights, optional beading etc. and a new sample and yarn details.

A biased simple lace shawl that can be worked with any weight and amount of yarn. The main body of the shawl is quite simple, so very easy to memorise and just keep knitting until you run out of yarn.

The original sample is worked using a DK yarn but since the pattern is worked on the bias it can be made with different amounts of yarn. There are suggestions within the pattern for changing the needle size for different weights.

There is optional details on how to bead the shawl - this is done with the crochet hook method and for the sample size, then approx 70 size 6 beads would be needed. The amount of beads will vary if you change the size of the shawl.

The gradient blue/pink Amitola sample shawl is 70” 176cm from tip to tip and 18” 47cm deep but the size is adjustable.

The pink sample is in Rialto 4ply.
