The Abuser And The Abused Haikus
Bridge — Between the Two
There is a place
where the abuser and the abused
are not strangers.
Sometimes they are generations apart.
Sometimes they live in the same bloodline.
Sometimes — painfully —
they live in the same body.
The wounded child can grow into the wounded adult.
The hurt that was never healed
can become the harm that was never intended —
but still inflicted.
This bridge is not built to excuse violence.
It is built to understand it.
Because what is not understood
is often repeated.
Here, accountability and compassion stand side by side.
Justice does not disappear.
Neither does mercy.
And somewhere in this narrow space,
a choice is waiting:
To continue the cycle —
or to break it.
Understanding pain is the first step to breaking cycles.
