Work Task Box Sampler: Interoffice Mail Level A, Ages 14 to 21
This free work task box sampler gives you the full Level A of my Interoffice Mail set, so you can try a vocational task box with your students before you buy.
Why I made this: Teachers asked what my work task boxes look like in a real classroom. This sampler is the first level of the mail set, with everything you need to run it and take data.
What's included:
• 12 Level A envelope cards with room numbers, each with a self check code
• 8 mailbox labels
• Answer key for all 12 cards
• Data sheet with a plain language prompt level key
• 10 session accuracy graph
How I use it: Lay out the 8 mailbox labels. The student reads the room number on each envelope card and puts it on the label with the same room number. When they finish, they check each card's code on the answer key. You record accuracy and prompt level on the data sheet and graph progress over 10 sessions. Model 2 or 3 cards first, then step back. If a student uses the check codes to guess, cover them with a small piece of tape. When a student gets most cards right on their own across a few sessions, they are ready for Level B in the full set.
How this is different: My Address Practice set teaches the parts of a community address. My Hospital Support Job Skills Task Cards teach hospital site rules on printable cards. This sampler is a hands on Level A sorting station from the Work Task Boxes series.
Part of the Work Task Boxes series: print, cut, and keep each level in a pencil box or envelope. Students work on their own, check their codes, and you take accuracy data.
Who it is for: high school special education, transition programs for ages 18 to 21, job coaches, and work based learning teams. Grades 9 to 12 and adult transition. Level A works for emerging readers within that band. The tasks look like real jobs, not preschool sorting.
What you download: one printable PDF, 9 pages, US Letter.
