How do you create a story visually? One frame at a time!
In this tutorial we will be drawing just one panel, or frame. I will explain the process step by step. By the end of this course you will have a nice finished panel that you can use in your art. I will show you how to draw a comic panel similar to the one shown above.
Of course one panel is only the first step into making comics, but when you can draw one panel, it's easier to draw another. It's actually possible to tell great stories with just one picture!
What will I learn?
The emphasis is on the technical side, how to move from the first pencil drawn empty rectangle to adding the characters, speech bubbles and the environment to finally rendering the final image with a black pen or ink. Even though this is more about how to proceed technically from start to finish, I will also give some introductory ideas about storytelling as well as some extra technical tips for you to try.
Who is this course aimed at?
Perfect for mixed-media artists, art journalers or anyone who wants to learn how to draw comics or wants to add storytelling into their art.
