Doctor, the focus of your life work, concludes that the highest level of healing service you can provide another, is to assist the individual to change his sense of identity?
Well that’s true. Just to put this in a capsule. I’d say, that what is sick is the identity; it’s a sick identity and consequently when one is seeking to find what we might call a healthy identity, or a life identity, he or she must first begin to recognize the true nature of life. Life has very definite qualities which few people really know. How often a person will be identified with qualities that are not true of life, and he’ll say “well that’s life you know” but it is so initially. My service is assisting a person as best as this is, all according to their response. Healing the whole Man, isn’t something you can impose on someone no, you’re going to help the patient look at what life qualities really are.
Then there is the need for a personal inventory which takes honesty in looking at the quality of what one has been expressing his life quality. If it isn’t, and this is a matter of choice the person is choosing to express himself this way, when if he is truly concerned to find a healthy identity, well he must stop identifying with, and expressing qualities that are not true of life, and begin to except identity with the qualities that are true of life.
