Nemea Shawl (crochet pattern)

Nemea was a city in Ancient Greece. It was the location of one of the four separate sports festivals that were part of the Panhellenic Games. Those festivals were the precursor to the modern Olympics.

In Greek mythology, Hercules was tasked to perform twelve heroic labors to amend for his actions in killing his family. His first task was to kill the lion that had been terrorizing people in the area of Nemea. He made a clock of the pelt to wear for protection.

This fun shawl uses only one 100g fingering weight skein, so hunt down that perfect yarn to create your own protective wrap!

Unblocked Size: 11” depth, 38” top edge
Blocked Size: 16” depth, 45” top edge
I simply soaked and laid out the shawl, it could be blocked more aggressively if desired.
