The Princess and the Pea Sequence & Write | Fairy Tale Retelling Activities
Bring The Princess and the Pea to life with an illustrated story and three levels of hands-on retelling. Children learn the story first, then cut, mix and sequence the pictures using the level of support that suits them.
THREE WAYS TO RETELL
1. Sequence and write: children cut out the picture-and-writing panels, mix them up, put them in story order, then write what is happening in each picture.
2. Sequence and match: children sequence the same panels, then cut out and match captions instead of writing. The captions fit inside the writing boxes.
3. Picture-only story map: children cut out the picture cards, mix them up and arrange them on the circular story map. No reading or writing is required.
