William E. Dickerson II

Pastor & Overseer William E. Dickerson II is the founder of Greater Love Tabernacle located in Dorchester, MA. He began the ministry in 1989 with an emphasis on reaching the hurting and disenfranchised of society. He has served as a youth minister, counselor, tutor, Boston Public School teacher and a loyal advocate for children and troubled individuals in courts throughout the Commonwealth. In 1995 he founded the Family Conference and has educated thousands of families by changing their approach to health and wellness. The Family Conference is designed to position men, women and young adults to embrace issues such as diabetes, hypertension, cancer and HIV/AIDS as present day concerns which should be dealt with immediately. During violent times within Boston’s inner city since the early 1980’s, Pastor Dickerson spearheaded community walks and rallies to cultivate safety teams through camaraderie, which still serve as a model for today. He has led countless anti-violence gatherings in schools, colleges and churches all while lending financial support to agencies advocating for youth related concerns. In 1994 he received recognition for his community outreach through the Channel 56 Independent Spirit award, followed by another for outstanding volunteerism and leadership from the Boston Housing Authority in 1998 and the Boston Celtics’ Heroes Among Us award in 2005. His extended volunteer contributions include: Chairperson of the Charitable Trust of Boston Board member of STRIVE Inc. of Boston Ujima Award for Outstanding Academic & Civic Engagement​ Lena Park National Night Award Out for Spiritual Leadership to end handgun violence in the City Of Boston President of the Massachusetts Statewide Black Clergy for Unity Renaissance Charter School Champion for Children Award The renowned author of the compelling book “You Too Can Be Delivered” is a graduate of the Boston Latin School. After high school he completed an undergraduate degree in Business Management, continuing on to obtain a Master of Education degree in counseling/psychology from Cambridge College and an another Master’s in Urban Ministry from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. He has an honorary doctorate as well. He and his wife Luella have been married for 32 years and have three adult children and two grandsons.
