Elven is the founder of Books About Tulsa, the literary project about the people and events that make Tulsa, Oklahoma, one of America’s truly unique cities. He has over 50 years of experience in information research, working in diverse fields such as healthcare, private education, plus print and electronic communication.

A lifelong resident of the metro Tulsa area, Elven is a member of the Tulsa NightWriters, the Museum of Tulsa History Society, the Oklahoma Writers' Federation, Inc., and the Society for American Baseball Research.
