Who Should Hire a Life Coach (IMO pt.1)

Welcome to My 1st Blog Series: In My Opinion

Hi there, sweet peas! I’m so glad you’re here. This is the very first post in my blog series called *In My Opinion*—and I chose that name intentionally.

To preface, I’m not here to tell you how to live your life. I’m here to share my thoughts and experiences, with the hope that something might resonate or spark curiosity. Think of it like a slice of pie—take what tastes sweet and leave the rest. Whether you nod along, raise an eyebrow, or feel neutral, you’re welcome here. :)

So with that said, let’s dive into Part One...

Who Should Hire a Life Coach?

Let’s start with the basics: What is a life coach, and what do they actually do?

A life coach helps you get crystal clear about your goals and supports you in building a path to reach them. We work with you to stay present, stay focused, and move forward. We help you identify what’s holding you back, and then walk beside you as you take real, meaningful action.

Picture this, you are walking around the corners from where you are to where you are hoping to be, and you have someone right next to you, facing each turn by your side.

As a coach, I often describe myself as a mix of a supportive teammate and an accountability partner—a grounded, trustworthy companion for the journey around those corners we just pictured.

Keep in mind that while we may gently explore the past when needed, our primary focus is on your present and future. Coaching is forward-focused, action-oriented, and designed for growth.

Is Coaching Right for You?

It might be time for a life coach if:

  • You're ready to take intentional action in your life
  • You're open to feedback and personal growth
  • You crave support and accountability
  • You're seeking clarity, discipline, or focus
  • You're ready (or almost ready!) for meaningful change

You may want to wait or consider another path first if:

  • You're currently navigating deep emotional pain or trauma (in which case, working with a therapist may be more appropriate right now)
  • You're not quite ready to take responsibility for your actions or choices
  • You're hoping someone else (your coach, for example) will “fix” everything for you
  • You’re not yet willing or able to invest your time, energy, or resources into the process

Therapy and Coaching: A Powerful Pair

I deeply believe in the value of mental health support. In fact, I personally see a therapist every week—it keeps me grounded, present, and aligned, both as a coach and a human being.

Therapy and coaching can complement each other beautifully. Depending on your unique story, you might benefit from working with a therapist before starting your coaching journey. There’s no one-size-fits-all path, and that’s okay.

I'd also like to add that as a woman of faith, I’d be remiss not to share the core of my own journey. God has played—and continues to play—a central role in my life and work. Jesus, the Wonderful Counselor and Prince of Peace, has been my anchor through every season. I wouldn’t be where I am without Him.

So, What Now?

If any of the “yes” points above resonated with you—pause for a moment. What goals are stirring in your heart? What might shift in your life (and the lives of those around you) if you had someone walking alongside you in pursuit of those goals?

Whether you're considering working with me or simply exploring your options, I’d love to connect. And if I’m not the right fit? I’d be honored to help you find someone who is.

Thank you for reading <3
