On March 20, 1911, in the quiet mill community of Remington, a Baltimore enclave, Mary Katherine Lewis was born to loving parents John and Annabelle Lewis. Mary passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior 105 years later, surrounded by family from across the country. Despite surviving her husband of 55 years, all of her her siblings, her nephews, and a son, she never outlived her resolute and passionate love for God.

In her later years, she began journaling some of these conversations, which sawed between the painful, the mundane, and the humorous. It is these private writings which comprise the book, Mary's Closer Walk, a hand-written volume discovered by her children after her death. As we read through her private talks with God, we realized they uncovered a deep love and yearning that we simply could not -- and should not -- keep to ourselves.
