Daniel Ling

Daniel Ling is a regional Design Leader, and certified Design and Agile Coach with 15 years of experience in the financial and e-commerce tech space- who moulded himself to be a “designer in a business suit”- strong in the Design Thinking process and yet relevant to the industry. He is proficient in the digital and transformational space- in the area of design leadership and management, research, strategy planning and coaching.

As Head of UX, Wallet and Payment in Lazada as well as Head of Experience Design for Income and DBS, Daniel kickstarted design teams to deliver GREAT DESIGN to customers while fostering collaboration and trust with stakeholders through design. He currently leads a regional team of 10 designers across South East Asia and China. He has risen from hands-on and transformative role in OCBC and DBS where he spearheaded key projects in branch, digital and communication design for the financial industry. He also created Train-the-Trainers DT Program to 1500 Income staff and facilitated workshops to over 1K professionals / students across public, schools and MNCs. Through his work, Daniel had been mentor to Champion team in Ideasmash 2017 for NTUC Income, UX mentor for DBS Hotspot and Unicorn Program (Champion) 2015/6 and also guest lecturer to over 100 NUS Design students.

He also founded Emerge Creatives- an ATO (Authorised Training Organisation) from scratch and his book sold worldwide- with desire to equip professionals worldwide with Design Thinking and Innovation skills.

Daniel Ling is driven by a vision to empower organisations, professionals and students alike with Design Thinking skills to be able to bring innovation and personal effectiveness to solve problems.

He wants to create Design Teams that are obsessed with CUSTOMERS, committed to SIMPLICITY and devoted to GOOD DESIGN.
