About Eva Wong Ng

Now 91, Eva's stories are woven from her recollections of the people and events that shaped her life, offering a rich historical portrait of Chinese New Zealand culture and society from the 1940s through to the early 2000s.

Her published works also include the novel ‘Chinatown Girl’ and the short story collection ‘Shadow Man’. Eva’s story ‘Kwong Tao Uncle’, first published in ‘Shadow Man’, also appears in ‘A Clear Dawn: New Asian Voices from Aotearoa New Zealand’ and is included in the Nanjing UNESCO City of Literature ‘Read for Future’anthology of 2022.
