Facebook Business Page Optimization

Optimize your Facebook Business Page profile to funnel leads into scheduled estimates.

If You Want To Be Taken Seriously...

Seriously take a look at your Facebook Business Page on mobile.

Seriously...

Do it now. I'll wait. Not sure how to view your Facebook Business Page as a visitor? Instructions here. (link here to a how to video create one upload to youtube?)

How does it look? Is the cover photo chopped off. Can you read the text. Is it too crowded? Too busy? Is it blurry? Does it convey what you really want to say to someone landing on your page. How can you use that space to get visitors to either scroll or to smash that button to take them to the next step.

Think of it like fishing. You want to use the right bait to get bites. You don't want to scare them off and you don't want to overfeed them so they swim away.

So what's your hook gonna be to get your visitors to take the next step?

Not sure. Don't worry that's what we're going to figure out here.

How to optimize your profile photo and cover photo to get more visitors to take action.

FB Business Page Profile Photo

Let's start with the Facebook Business Page profile photo. You'll learn what to do. What not to do. What to use. What not to use. Resulting in a simple, clean "icon" that will make you a standout in comments and posts.

What To Do

  • Use an icon.
  • Use a head shot with solid or blurred background, center yourself, smile, look professional or pro casual.
  • Use initials.
  • Use transparent background for images.
  • Facebook's default background color is white so a white background will load faster.
  • Add a review, quote and/or a special offer in the description box of the profile photo. The description box is displayed next to the photo once the profile photo is clicked.
  • The profile photo placeholder is a circle. So be sure to resize to leave some space (padding) around the perimeter.
  • Use the profile photo and cover photo in conjunction to show off your personality.
  • Avoid putting text into the profile photo. Remember your business name appears adjacent to the profile photo. Adding your name in the profile photo is too much. Less is more here and the simpler the design the bigger the impact. Go to your follower's page and look through the profile thumbnails. Which ones stand out? That's what you want. Simple.

What Not To Do

  • Don't add too many elements into the photo. Less is more here. I know I already said that but I can't empahasize it enough.
  • Don't use text or slogans or your business name here.
  • If you are using a photo of yourself keep in mind the back ground and how that will look with the design of the page.
  • Don't spend a lot of money on a design.
  • Don't crowd the edges of the circle with your design. Leave some space. It will make the page flow.

Doing It The Right Way

This is a classic example of a business owner who knows his trade but decides to take on the marketing aspect of his business. We all do it. I have done it. Why spend money when I can probably do it myself. Isn't that what gets you nuts about homeowners trying to fix their pools? Think of it this way. You don't build the vehicle that you use to get to and from work. You buy a vehicle because it's easier and a better make. You might be capable of building it but it would take so much time and effort and cost way more and probably come out like shit. The same goes for the drill you use, the boots you wear. Yet when it comes to marketing you discount its worth because you can not measure it return. Pool owners call you because you are the expert. They pay you to save them time and money to help them make their pool easier and better to operate. The same goes for marketing and optimizing your Facebook Page. Hire the right marketer so you have the right look to get the best results.
