TinkerCAD Toolkit Coming Soon!
Most 3D design courses are just a collection of random videos with a project or two thrown in. I have spent the last three years teaching summer camps and year-long classes, developing something different. TinkerCAD Toolkit is not just about learning tools. TinkerCAD Toolkit is about becoming an inventor and developing the skills needed to bring your ideas to life. How is This Course Different?
Most online TinkerCAD courses throw every tool at a student in the beginning of the course and then walk through a few projects at the end. That did not work for me, and from my experience teaching in the classroom, it does not work for my students either.
TinkerCAD Toolkit is built on my "Learn then Do" philosophy. I introduce tools just a couple at a time. For example, in Unit One I only introduce the eight essential tools. After that, I immediately dive into a project that requires all of these eight tools so that the student gets a chance to internalize the knowledge. This structure ensures the knowledge actually sticks and, more importantly, is understood. I am not interested in just teaching students what a tool does; I want students to really grasp how to use the tools in their projects.
The Story Behind the Course
I have always loved making things. As a kid, my room was a constant construction zone, filled with everything from an entire board game made of cardboard to a working pendulum clock built out of Legos. When my family bought a 3D printer, it felt like unlocking a superpower.
As I dove in, I realized that there are great beginner-friendly design programs, but there are not many great ways to learn those programs. TinkerCAD Toolkit was born from this frustration and is my attempt to make design for 3D printing accessible to everyone. I started my journey by teaching summer camps and a year-long class to refine my curriculum. Now, I am bringing that classroom experience directly to you.
Extra Perks
Weekly Live Help Sessions
I know that sometimes you just need someone on the other end to walk you through a problem. That is why I am not just handing you a bunch of videos and disappearing. With this course, students get access to weekly live help sessions where they can jump on a video call with me and ask questions.
Peace of Mind
3D printers are a big investment, and every parent’s fear is buying one only for it to sit in a corner collecting dust. Think of this course as the perfect "litmus test." If your student finishes this course, loves it, and is asking for more, you can feel confident that a 3D printer will be something they actually use.
Get Started for Free
I want you to be sure this course is the right fit for your student before you commit to purchasing it. That is why I have made the entirety of Unit 0 and Unit 1 completely free. You can jump in right now, get to know me a little bit, and even complete your first project. No credit card required; just dive in to see if it is right for your child!
