About Me
I believe AI should make clinicians and educators think more clearly, not less. That conviction sits behind everything I write, teach, and build.
I'm a Professor and Vice Chair for Innovation in the Department of PA Studies at the University of Pittsburgh, and I've spent over two decades teaching clinical reasoning to the next generation of physician assistants. I served as President of the Physician Assistant Education Association during my three-year officer term, 2024 through 2026.
I'm the editor and a contributing author of Digital Health: Telemedicine and Beyond (Elsevier, 2024), I'm board-certified in artificial intelligence in medicine (ABAIM), and I chaired my state's PA licensing board for over a decade.
ReasonFirst is the platform, and the workbook series you're looking at right now: practical tools for health professions educators who want to use AI without losing the judgment it's supposed to support. You can explore the tools and resources at ReasonFirst.ai.
I also speak internationally on AI in clinical practice and education.I speak internationally on AI in clinical practice and education.
