When God Says Wait: Encouragement for the Silent Seasons
Scripture:
"Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord." — Psalm 27:14 (NIV)
Devotional
Waiting is one of the hardest things we’ll ever do in our walk with God. When the doors aren’t opening, when the prayers feel unanswered, and when silence fills the space where we hoped for a word it can feel like we’re forgotten. But the truth is, God’s silence is not His absence. In the waiting, He is working. He is preparing, pruning, and positioning us for what’s next. The waiting season is where strength is built, character is refined, and intimacy with God deepens. If you're in a silent season, know this: God still sees you. He still hears you. And He’s still moving even if it's behind the scenes.
Encouragement:
Take heart. Stay faithful. Don’t despise the quiet places. This is where He teaches you to walk by faith, not by sight. Your "yes" in the waiting is worship. And when the time is right — everything will shift.
Prayer
Lord, help me to trust You when I don’t see the full picture. Remind me that waiting is not wasted and that Your timing is always perfect. I choose to lean on Your faithfulness today. In Jesus' name, amen.
