BIO

Erika Ailunno was born in Genoa, Italy, in 1997. She moved to London in 2018, where she pursued her studies and graduated with a BA in Photography from London Metropolitan University in 2026.

Her photographic practice is rooted in documentary and editorial photography, with a strong focus on feminism, LGBTQ+ communities, and human rights. Through politically engaged visual storytelling, she explores themes of identity, gender, social justice, and

belonging, using photography as a tool to question systems of inequality and give visibility to underrepresented voices.

In 2025, she exhibited the first chapter of her long-term project "There Is No Sex" during Women’s History Month at London Metropolitan University and later published the photographic book of the project.

Inspired by personal narratives and collective experiences, her work seeks to challenge injustice and create space for dialogue, empathy, and change.

She currently lives and works in London.
