My name is HALIMAH, and this is my raw journey of steel and thread.
Growing up in Indonesia, survival was my very first craft. As a primary school child, I had to wash other people's clothes just to earn a single warm meal. But I refused to let poverty lock-in my future. Through sheer willpower and academic excellence, I successfully passed the rigorous teacher appointment examination held at Universitas Indonesia (UI) right after middle school. I proved my teaching skills directly in front of the school board and became a certified primary school teacher while still a high schooler. On weekdays, I taught little children; on weekends, I studied to finish my own education.
Yet, a teacher's monthly salary back then was only about $25 USD—not enough to protect my dreams. So, I made a life-altering choice. I left the classroom and entered the harsh noise of a glove manufacturing factory. For 10 brutal yet beautiful years, I spent every single day operating industrial sewing machines, pushing my fingertips to the limit, and masterfully absorbing the complex curves, tension, and structural mechanics of glove-making.
Fate then led me to meet my devoted South Korean husband, and I crossed the ocean to start a new life here. Today, inside our quiet little home studio, I am unleashing the 10 years of raw technical mastery embedded deep within my hands.

At HALIMAH VORTEX, we do not follow the crowd.
For generations, traditional artisans have relied on "leather molding"—soaking flat leather in water and forcefully pressing it into rigid plastic or plaster molds to fake a three-dimensional form. To us, that is not true leathercraft. That is merely replicating industrial plastic injection molding using organic material. It lacks a soul, and it lacks structural intelligence.
We chose a completely different, unyielding path: True Leather Architecture.
Every masterpiece inside our studio is meticulously engineered from a flat raw leather layout without a single drop of water, chemical hardening, or internal skeletal support. We refuse to bend the material to external molds. Instead, we command space using advanced geometric formulas, anatomical volume curves, and the raw physical tension of our signature whip-stitch framework.

To shatter the limitations of traditional design and capture absolute lifelike realism, our architecture has evolved. We strategically engineer our blueprints—ranging from complex integrated single-piece foundations to high-precision multi-piece segmented layouts. This allows us to map out unmatched organic muscular curves and raw structural power while maintaining maximum material efficiency. Every master blueprint (.SVG/.DXF/.PDF) is a piece of my lived history.
