Mimi Selmi Reed was born and raised in Zurich, Switzerland. After joining the Zurich School of Design at the age of 17, she earned a BFA and completed a 5 year graduate degree program in Graphic Design and Illustration. Her further education included a degree in advanced illustration and children’s illustration from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA.
In 1997, Mimi was the winner of the US-Artist Green card which lead her to immigrate and relocate to NYC. She later moved to Los Angeles for work with Disney on their new Disneyland Tokyo theme park designs. After this project, she went on to work with the Hollywood special-effects company, Cinesite/Kodak as staff illustrator/concept artist. She worked for many major movie and special-effects companies in Los Angeles including Styleclick/USA Networks, providing illustrations, character designs and storyboards. During this time in Los Angeles, she also freelanced for several fashion companies, expanding her artistic skills in pattern development and fashion renderings.
Mimi has since returned to Switzerland with her family, where she continues working with clients in America, Europe and Asia. This book contains her own personal tips & tricks for Adobe users from years of experience using and teaching design for various schools in both Europe and the USA.
