Innate Ecology Ecosomatics Course

Nature-led Somatics | Embody the Wisdom of Nature

The Journey

Innate Ecology is an ecosomatic framework that follows an arc of nature-led somatic practice and psychology.

Through four core streams, we come into deep kinship with our bioregion through attending to embodiment.

As in the ways of ancient cosmology, we remember how to hear nature speak through somatic awareness.

This framework harnesses somatic inquiry, nature connection, neuroplasticity, and somatic psychology in order to create a clear path of practice.

We take the journey of coming back to our bodies and the natural world for nervous system tending, cultivating kinship, and learning how to unearth nature's wisdom within us.

The Streams

The four core streams are as follows:

  • Nature as the vital third sphere of relationship

In this stream, we explore how to approach nature as a vital sphere of relationship, studying the relational dynamics that nature uniquely offers us as imperative to our well-being. We discover nervous system tending through ecosomatic theory and practice, immersing ourselves in co-regulation and attachment with nature.

  • Ecosomatic Listening

Through cultivating embodied awareness and interoception, we begin to hear nature speak through us in felt sensation and somatic attention. We learn our personal language with which we commune with nature, understanding how safety, pacing, and titration are necessary practices for this work. We come to understand the common tongue spoken by both nature and the body.

  • Ecosomatic Restorying

Once we have established our ecosomatic listening practice, we weave in somatic psychology in order to cognitively understand the threads that nature has shared with us. As in ancient times, we know that nature is an elder and mentor with wisdom and intelligence that far surpasses the human. When we learn to attune to this, we receive deep insight in our lives and our unfolding.

  • Integration

To complete our cycle of learning, we work with embodied integration to orient us towards the direction that nature has guided us. We deepen into reciprocity and kinship with our bioregion and ecological/seasonal pacing.

This course will take you through a cycle of learning that you'll be able to practice again and again throughout your life. Based on established theory and principles of practice from western psychology, Forest Therapy, somatics, and ancient animist cosmology (Gaelic Otherworld), Innate Ecology is a foundational ecosomatic offering that guides you into active kinship with the natural world, as humans have always done. May we come back to the earth and to ourselves. May we remember.

How it Works

The course is offered over 7 weeks within the Innate Ecology membership platform. Each class is pre-recorded as video with written transcript.

Weekly classes are a blend of practice and theory.

The membership offers monthly sessions and meditations for consistent practice and ecosomatic community. You are warmly welcome to continue on with the membership after completing the course, and partake of as much of the monthly offerings as you wish while you complete the course.

Each month we deepen into a different aspect of ecosomatics, guided by a natural being. May 2026 is Deep Listening with Deer.
