We are Alexandre and Natália Correia, a couple who fell in love with the Northern Lights long before we ever imagined that one day we would call Swedish Lapland home.

Our journey didn't begin with perfect conditions or expert knowledge.

On our very first trip, we spent five nights waiting for the aurora, and saw absolutely nothing. Then, when the lights finally appeared, we ran outside wearing hoodies and flip-flops, completely unprepared. We fell into the snow, laughed, and somehow managed to experience one of the most unforgettable moments of our lives.

That night changed everything.

Instead of simply hoping to see the aurora again, we became obsessed with understanding it.

We started studying solar activity, weather patterns, aurora forecasts, real-time data and everything that could help us understand when, where and why the Northern Lights appear.

We chased the aurora more than nine times, traveled through the Nordic countries, learned from countless nights in the Arctic, and eventually took the biggest step of all: in 2025, we moved to Swedish Lapland.

Over time, we realized something:

There is so much more to seeing the Northern Lights than simply checking the Kp index and hoping for the best.

And we wanted to share what we had learned.
