I’m Joe Willems, an airline captain and photographer based near Düsseldorf, Germany. For more than three decades, I have photographed the world from the cockpit, turning fleeting views of cities, landscapes and weather into carefully composed images. Aviation gives me the perspective. Light, geometry and timing create the photograph.
