How the story of Narnia’s creation can point us to seeing the beauty of our world and God’s wonderfully good creation (and believing the Bible and not in evolution)
Dear Reader,
With coffee in hand and my baby sister asleep in my arms, I write this letter to you. You may wonder how one can drink coffee, hold a baby, and write a letter. Well, in one arm (my left) I hold my sleeping sister, and with the other (my right) I go between holding my coffee and then setting it down to write. So you see? It ends up working just right!
Few things have captured my imagination like that of creation. The story of creation, believe it or not, was quite controversial for me growing up. Actually, the belief, or rather the questioning of unbelief, led me on a path away from Jesus. This came about from learning about evolution as a child. You should know I only believe the truth, and that is the Bible. I do not believe in such nonsense as evolution. I wonder if you believe as I do or if you think I am quite mad?
How thankful I am that Jesus pursued me and brought me back to the Light.
Now I see the truth and beauty of creation.
Did you know, dear reader, that God made you? He made you wonderfully and more detailed than any sculptor could ever come close to. He made the sun, moon, stars, and all you see. Each morning and night He paints the skies with such artistry. Our God is the creator of all. All He made is good (He said so Himself in Genesis).
I love God’s creation!
Have you read The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe? Have you ever wondered how Narnia began? How was it made? How did the White Witch get there? Why was Narnia cursed to be in forever winter before Aslan came and made things right? How was the wardrobe made? Have you ever wondered if there could be more worlds out there somewhere? Why did the professor believe in Lucy?
Well, The Magician’s Nephew answers those questions (at least in regard to Narnia). You get to see the wood between the worlds (where you can enter into other worlds through the puddles of the wood). You get to see how Narnia was created and hear the creation's song.
It is such a beautiful moment that brings me to tears. It has made our own creation story more rich and vibrant in my mind. To think of all of creation bursting to life at the voice of God. The plants, the animals, the sounds, the life, and the colors all come forth at the sound of His voice.
Creation is so beautiful.
Jesus is so beautiful.
How I long to see Jesus and His kingdom!
I hope you are filled with wonder as you read about creation coming to life! I hope you are filled with joy at reading our own creation story and that of Narnia!

The story follows a man who becomes a sort of magician. His nephew travels around through the woods between the worlds along with his friend. They met the White Witch before she came to Narnia. She, as before, is evil and destroys her own world and people before trying to rule other worlds. The witch is shown as evil, with those who are good fighting against her. This is one of the more magic-heavy of the books, but with clear distinctions between good and evil.
