My name is Leslie Wilson and I grew up in in Belfast through a time which is known as "The Troubles". This was a bleek time in the history of Northern Ireland when a lot of atrocities were committed by paramilitary terror gangs. Most of my poems have been shaped by that period of my life, therefore some of my poems tend to have a dark, sinister side to them. On the other hand, some poems are quite paradoxical and have that resilient Belfast humour which grew out of those bloody awful years.
