About us
We’re a small team with years of hands-on experience in programming, PR, and A&R. We built proprietary software to collect publicly available data, carefully extracting the details that matter most for outreach. Then we clean, deduplicate, and organize everything to deliver ready-to-use, reliable databases.

Metal Index is a comprehensive, curated resource designed to streamline outreach and discovery in the metal music industry. It consists of ready-to-use databases built to save time and effort for labels, A&R, PR, promoters, and other professionals.
-
Metal Index is a set of contact databases built to save you time on outreach. Instead of spending weeks collecting emails manually, you start with a large, organised base and filter it to fit your campaign. The bundle includes:
Metal Bands Database - 48,000+ bands worldwide
Emails, country, genre, label/independent status and socials where available.
Metal Record Labels Database - 9,500+ labels
Email, country, genre focus, plus website/Bandcamp/socials where available.
Metal Press Media Database - 1,500+ media contacts
Outlets and journalists across different regions.
Metal Festival Database - 400+ festivals
Emails, countries, event dates and relevant links.
All files come in CSV/XLSX format, ready to open in Excel, Google Sheets or import into your email/CRM tool.
The databases are compiled from publicly available sources and reflect how the industry actually publishes its contact points. This means you will find a mix of direct emails and general contact addresses, as these are often the official and only listed channels.
Like any large-scale dataset, coverage and classification may not be perfect in every entry, and some contacts may change over time. We strongly recommend filtering, verifying and segmenting the data based on your specific outreach goals before sending campaigns.
-
All databases are up to date as of late 2025. The Metal Bands list was refreshed in September 2025, the Record Labels list in October 2025, and the Press Media list in November 2025.
The music scene is always changing, but we work on a rolling update basis to keep everything as accurate and relevant as possible.
-
After payment, download is instant and you also receive the file by email. The CSV/XLSX opens in Excel, Google Sheets, Numbers, Airtable, Notion, and most CRMs that import CSV.
-
Online info evolves. If you encounter obvious hard bounces shortly after purchase, contact us. We’ll assist with replacements or viable alternatives where possible. If you spot an issue, tell us and we’ll correct it for the next refresh. Anyone who buys Metal Index (2025 Edition) will receive the next full refresh free of charge, delivered at the end of 2026.

Checkout is handled by PayPal. You can pay with your PayPal balance or any major card through PayPal’s encrypted checkout. As soon as PayPal confirms the payment, you’re taken to the instant download page, and we also email you the file (CSV + XLSX). If the email doesn’t land in a few minutes, check spam or contact us through our Contact Form.

Legitimate interests (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). We compile limited, professional contact data to enable relevant B2B outreach in the music industry (A&R, press, booking). We apply data-minimisation and transparency, and if someone objects, we stop using their details for marketing.
-
Metal Index is the controller for compiling and licensing the dataset. Buyers are independent controllers for their own outreach and must meet their own GDPR/ePrivacy obligations (appropriate legal basis, information, and a working unsubscribe in every message).
-
Emailing is governed by ePrivacy rules (national anti-spam laws). Requirements differ by country: in many places individuals require opt-in consent, while outreach to corporate addresses may be allowed if you provide a clear opt-out. Buyers are responsible for following the rules where their recipients are and for including an unsubscribe link.

Email us through our Contact Form with the band name and the contact to change/remove. We handle requests promptly and confirm by email. If someone objects to marketing use, we stop using their details for that purpose.
