My life story…is the reason I am called to help and inspire others. Being raised in Detroit, MI in the 80’s & 90’s, I saw firsthand a thriving city go thru an epic decline and the effect it caused on those around me. Then after high school, I transitioned to the South for college and immediately noticed the cultural differences, and I’m not just talking about the weather! The school I attended, of which I am a proud alumnus, Oakwood University, is a melting pot of social and economic backgrounds with the distinction of being a private HBCU. After completing a degree in Communications I stayed in Huntsville, AL and began a career in radio at 103.1 WEUP. A year later I was offered and accepted the job as the full time midday on air personality, a position I still hold to this day. In the midst of my career blossoming, God re-routed the course of my life. In 2013 at 31 years old I was diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer. This diagnosis would be yet another life event that would shape my world view. My battle with Breast Cancer was the final wake up call to realize my life’s experiences were grooming me for this platform of helping others. Now I live to share my life’s experiences, with hopes of inspiring someone to not give up their fight.
