About the Authors

The Parent Resilience Method™ was created by bringing together two complementary perspectives.

Anders Joelsson combines professional expertise in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), psychology, coaching, and neurodevelopmental conditions with the lived experience of raising an autistic son. He is a Certified Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (CBT) and Certified Coach, with extensive knowledge and practical experience supporting people with autism and other neurodevelopmental conditions, as well as parents and families facing stress, anxiety, worry, and the demands of everyday family life.

His professional work focuses on understanding the individual behind the diagnosis, identifying patterns, strengths, needs, and barriers, and using evidence-informed approaches including CBT, Motivational Interviewing (MI), and acceptance-based methods to support meaningful and sustainable change.

For more than fifteen years, Glenn Michael has worked alongside parents navigating some of the most demanding seasons of family life. Through his coaching and his work with Autism Parents United, he has listened to hundreds of parents describe the emotional realities of raising an autistic child.

Together, their professional experiences, work with parents and individuals, and Anders’s firsthand experience as the father of an autistic son became part of the foundation for The Parent Resilience Method™.

This book brings together professional knowledge, coaching and CBT-based perspectives, experience supporting parents and people with neurodevelopmental conditions, and the lived reality of autism parenting.

Together, Anders and Glenn share one simple belief:

Parents don’t need another book telling them to try harder or become perfect.

They need to understand themselves.

Because when parents understand what is happening inside them, they create more space to notice, understand, and respond to what is happening around their child.

Resilient parenting doesn’t begin by changing your child.

It begins by understanding yourself.
