About me
Maria José Belenguer is a Spanish composer and arranger whose music bridges the worlds of symphonic tradition, cinematic language, and deep emotional expression. Her path blends solid academic training with a narrative sensibility that permeates every piece she creates.
She began her musical journey as a flutist, but soon discovered her passion for composition. With studies in classical composition and film scoring. She has built a catalogue that ranges from symphonies for band to award-winning soundtracks for short films.
Her work has been recognized in competitions such as “Carmelo Alonso Bernaola” and “María Teresa Prieto”, and performed by ensembles including the Bilbao Municipal Band. Maria José’s music seeks to connect, to tell stories, and to give voice —sometimes to silence, sometimes to those who were never heard— through a carefully crafted, honest and meaningful artistic voice.
