About Me

My name is Michael M. Ogu, and I am a digital artist, published author, songwriter, poet, and lifelong student of nature, beauty, creativity, and the human spirit.

I live and work in Houston, Texas, USA, where I devote much of my time to creating artworks and writings that celebrate God, faith, nature, culture, peace, and the limitless possibilities of human imagination.

My journey into the world of art began with a profound admiration for the great masters whose works have shaped civilization. I was deeply inspired by the genius of the Renaissance and the extraordinary achievements of Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Titian, and later Pablo Picasso. Their ability to combine technical mastery with intellectual depth convinced me that art is one of humanity's highest callings.

As my art appreciation matured, I found equal inspiration in the emotional power and bold vision of artists such as Vincent van Gogh and many other celebrated painters whose works continue to transcend time and culture. Their creativity encouraged me to seek my own artistic path while honoring the enduring traditions of the past, the present, and even the future.

I am also a published author, and throughout my life, I have written a substantial collection of creative works, including numerous unpublished songs, poems, and books waiting for their time to come. For me, writing and painting are two expressions of the same calling. One gives language to my thoughts; the other gives them shape, color, and life.

Beyond art itself, I am an ardent and unrepentant advocate of world love and peace. This conviction lies at the very heart of much of my creative work. Many of my artworks, paintings, poems, songs, and writings are dedicated to promoting world love and peace, and understanding among peoples and nations, encouraging compassion, ending oppression and suppression at all levels of human society, and reminding us of our shared humanity irrespective of our colors, languages, sex, faith, beliefs, and other differences.

I believe that the future of our world depends not upon the expansion of conflict but upon the growth of cooperation. For this reason, I have consistently used my art, songs, and writings to call for the total and irreversible destruction of all "Weapons of Dying and Death" throughout the world. I believe that humanity possesses the wisdom and the resources to choose a different and better path—one that values life over destruction and hope over fear.

In my view, the enormous wealth, talent, and resources devoted to creating and maintaining such instruments of death and destruction could instead be directed toward the advancement of humanity. I believe they should be invested in:

• Education that enlightens minds and opens opportunities.

• Agriculture that feeds the hungry.

• Healthcare that heals the sick.

• Development that improves the quality of life for all people.

• Positive technologies that solve problems and build a better future for generations who are yet unborn.

I also believe that a truly civilized world is one in which prosperity carries responsibility. I advocate for a more equitable sharing of the world's blessings, where those who have abundance willingly extend a helping hand to those who struggle. I believe that the wealthy and the fortunate should actively help care for the hungry, the poor, the sick, the vulnerable, and the less privileged, because the measure of a society is found not only in its achievements but also in how it treats its weakest members. The poor and the sick should be helped to stand on their feet. Oppression and suppression of the weak throughout the world must die an untimely death.

These ideals naturally find their way into my creative work. My artworks seek to celebrate the beauty of creation, the richness of human culture, the strength of faith, and the enduring hope that binds people together across borders, races, and generations. I create landscapes, inspirational scenes, Christian and spiritual
