Poppy Sloan is a queer poet, theatre maker, performer, consent educator, youth worker and the founder of 'Inside Voices', an inclusive open mic poetry event in Northcote, Melbourne.
She performed her one-woman show, a spoken word psycho- drama comedy called 'WILD-HER-NESS', as part of Melbourne Fringe Festival 2018 and Perth Fringe World 2019. The show explored queer experience and traversed boundaries between teenage good and adulthood through wit, grit and authencity. "
"In WILD-HER-NESS! Sloan promises a new generation of poet... The stories in question are at once extremely personal and familiar... she uses that vulnerability to its fullest extent, levelling the audience with hard-earned wisdom." - isolated Nation, Theatre Review 2019
She has worked in various creative spaces with youth and believes strongly in the benefits of free creative expression and finding new innovative ways to approach traditional written and performative modalities.
Her latest collection of work 'Becoming a phoenix and other rebellious acts of love' is available for immediate download below now!
