Press The Ishu: A Hustla’s Street Tale is my debut book, self-published in 2006, rooted in my self-publishing journey that began in 2000 as Press The Ishu Publishing. It chronicles my life from ages 15–22, blending narrative poetry, real news articles, and raw autobiography, inspired by Rita Dove’s Stella & Beulah.

HoodRats is a gritty fable told through raw dialogue and inner-city vernacular, following teens navigating sex, drugs, juvenile delinquency, and domestic violence. With little to no narration, the story unfolds through their voices alone—showing how some become products of their environment, while others rise above adversity.

My chapbooks are short poetry collections under 50 pages, featuring crisp four-line poems and reflective pieces inspired by life “On-The-Hudson” in Castleton, New York. Written during my years as a classroom teacher, these books capture everyday beauty, memory, and quiet truth—soon available in print and instant digital download.

2019 Retired Teaching
Retiring from teaching after 13 years feels like closing a powerful chapter filled with purpose, passion, and perseverance. From guiding students in grades K–12 to running a Drama Club for five years, I watched young talent shine on real stages and in the classroom. Our ticket sales funded Broadway trips—memories made through hard work and heart.

Every Other Weekend is a heartwarming children’s story for ages 3–6 about family love and quality time. Little Katisha looks forward to visiting her Auntie every other weekend. Together they play dress-up, sparkle in jewelry, giggle with makeup, munch popcorn, and build puzzles—making sweet memories that last forever.
