Terms of Sale
Terms of Sale for Digital Products. Last updated: 19 September 2026
These terms apply when you buy a digital download (a template, document pack, spreadsheet or similar file) from Remit Docs. Please read them before you buy. By completing checkout you agree to them.
1. WHO YOU ARE BUYING FROM
Remit Docs is a trading name of Craig Hallsworth, a sole trader based in England. Address: First Floor, Swan Buildings, 20 Swan Street, Manchester, M4 5JW. Email: Remitdocs@outlook.com
Our digital products are sold through Payhip. Payhip processes the payment and, for some buyers, acts as the seller of record for tax purposes. Payhip's own terms apply to the checkout process in addition to these terms. Where Payhip's own policy gives you more than these terms do, you can rely on whichever is better for you.
2. WHAT YOU ARE BUYING
You are buying a licence to use a digital document. You are not buying the copyright in it. Copyright in all Remit Docs templates, wording, layouts, spreadsheets and designs remains with Craig Hallsworth.
3. YOUR LICENCE
When you have paid, you are granted a non-exclusive, perpetual, non-transferable licence to use the file.
You may: use the template within your own business, on your own projects, for as many of your own jobs as you like; edit it, add your own logo and wording, and adapt it to your needs; print it, save it, and store it in your own systems; and issue a completed document - one you have filled in for a real job - to your own client, principal contractor, employees, subcontractors or enforcement officer as part of that job.
You may not: resell, sub-licence, share, give away, publish or distribute the blank or substantially unmodified template itself, whether free or for payment; upload the template to a file-sharing site, a public drive, a document library, a membership site or a training platform; use the template as the basis of a competing product, template pack or template service offered to third parties; or remove or obscure the copyright notice on the file.
The short version: use it on your jobs as much as you want; do not pass the blank template on to anyone else.
If you need a licence for a group of companies, a franchise network, a training course or resale, email Remitdocs@outlook.com and we will quote for one.
4. PRICE AND VAT
Prices are shown in pounds sterling on the product page. Remit Docs is not registered for VAT, so no UK VAT is charged and no VAT invoice can be issued. If you are buying from outside the UK, Payhip may add local sales tax or VAT at checkout as the seller of record; anything added at checkout is shown to you before you pay.
5. DELIVERY
Delivery is electronic and immediate. After payment, Payhip gives you a download link on screen and by email to the address you gave at checkout. There is no physical delivery and no physical item.
If the download link does not work, email Remitdocs@outlook.com with your order number and we will send the file directly. Please check your spam or junk folder first.
You will need software that can open the file format stated on the product page. The format is stated on every product page before you buy. We cannot refund a file simply because you do not have the software to open it, but tell us and we will help where we can.
6. YOUR RIGHT TO CANCEL, AND WHY IT USUALLY DOES NOT APPLY HERE
If you are a consumer (buying for purposes outside your trade or profession), the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 normally give you 14 days to change your mind about something bought online.
For digital content that is supplied immediately, those Regulations let you give up that right so that you can download straight away. At checkout you are asked to confirm that you want the download to start immediately during the 14-day cancellation period, and that you understand you lose your right to cancel once the download has begun. You must tick that box to complete the purchase. Once you have ticked it and the download has started, your 14-day cancellation right is gone and we do not have to give you a refund for simply changing your mind.
This does not affect your rights if the product is faulty, not as described, or not delivered - see section 7. It also does not stop us giving you a refund anyway; see our Refund Policy, which is more generous than the law requires on small downloads. If you are buying as a business, the 14-day cancellation right never applied to you in the first place.
7. IF SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE PRODUCT
Consumers have rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which sets standards for digital content. The file must be of satisfactory quality; fit for any particular purpose you told us about before you bought, and which we accepted; and as described on the product page.
If it is not, you are entitled to ask us to repair or replace the file. If that cannot be done, or cannot be done in a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience to you, you are entitled to a price reduction, which can be up to the full price. If the digital content damages your device or other digital content, and that happened because we failed to use reasonable care and skill, you may be entitled to a repair or compensation.
Nothing in these terms takes away or limits your statutory rights.
Business buyers: the Consumer Rights Act does not apply to you, but we will still repair, replace or refund a file that is faulty or not as described. Please tell us within a reasonable time.
To make a claim, email Remitdocs@outlook.com with your order number and tell us what is wrong. We aim to reply within 2 working days.
8. WHAT OUR TEMPLATES ARE, AND WHAT THEY ARE NOT
Our templates are document frameworks. They are not legal advice, not health and safety advice, and not a substitute for competent professional judgement on your own project. You are responsible for checking that a completed document is accurate, suitable for your site and compliant with the law and any client or scheme requirements that apply to you.
9. UPDATES AND AVAILABILITY
We may update, improve, re-price or withdraw a product at any time. If you have already bought a file, you keep it and your licence continues. We do not promise free updated versions unless the product page says so.
10. OUR LIABILITY TO YOU
We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence; fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Subject to that, and for business buyers only, our total liability arising out of or in connection with a digital product is limited to the price you paid for that product, and we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of contracts, loss of business or loss of anticipated savings.
For consumers, we are responsible for loss that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill, and we are not responsible for loss that is not foreseeable.
11. COMPLAINTS, LAW AND COURTS
Please email Remitdocs@outlook.com first - most things are sorted out quickly. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your own country's courts.
