Behind the Scenes of an Unforgettable Day at DevMeet Berlin 2026!
Also I "forgot" to take any pictures, so bare with me, but I am not the typical person to "ask" for a photo, sooo sorry in advance. If you want some photos of the actual event, you have to wait for the official team account to "post" about it.
I'm still processing the incredible two days, and still exhausted from the long drive from Berlin to Munich, but I'm happy I was able to attend and be part of the official DeviantArt DevMeet Event in Berlin 2026!
When I first saw the official announcement that DeviantArt Launchpad was coming to Germany (Berlin), I was super excited and immediately told my husband that I would love to go.
At first, it seemed too far for us, but thanks to my lovely husband, we were able to attend the event in person!
Arriving in Berlin (Wednesday, July 14) 🚄
We arrived one day prior to the event and checked into our hotel for the night. It was very nice hotel, close to the venue and I even met some of the staff there and had a small chat before calling it a night.
We also had delicious "pink döner" and vegan chili-cheese fries, both tasted amazing. If I ever visit Berlin again, this hotel defnitely be my first choice.
The day of the event (Thursday, July 15) 🔊
We woke up quite early to get breakfast. The breakfast bar was incredble, they had everything! All kinds of bread and cheese, even vegan options, fresh fruit... and since the breakfast was so filling, we didn't get much for lunch.
After breakfast, at around 11 AM, we checked out of the hotel and made our way to the venue to meet the DeviantArt staff and I practiced for the rehearsals.
For context:
I originally planned to attend the event simply as a visitor. But then community staff member Joe (vagrantscout) asked If I would like to attend as an official guest in their Launchpad presentation, and talk about my experience as a community lead and my time on DeviantArt - in the form of an interview with German staff member Peter Gorniak (pgorniak).
I didn't think twice and immediately said: YES, of course. 🥰
The Interview with Peter Gorniak (German Staff Member) 💚
The entire interview was held in German, which helped me stay calm and speak naturally. The entire DeviantArt team was incredibly warm, supportive, and very patient with me and they made the whole experience feel safe and welcoming.
The DevMeet Berlin event was the very first event I attended in person. At first, I felt uncomfortable showing myself in public—not because I dislike myself, but because I've always considered my art to be more important, and I feel that I, as a person, am rather secondary.
But the whole team and community welcomed me so warmly!
During the interview Peter asked me questions about:
- my artistic journey
- how I started on the website
- my connection to the DA community
- advice for new artists
- how I deal with creative blocks
After the presentation we had some free time to chat and draw with all kind of amazing people at the venue! 💚
Joe (vagrantscout) kindly printed some artwork out for me, and I also received two beautiful photographs from him.
My own art, displayed at the event as physical prints
Seeing my own art displayed as physical prints at the event felt amost like a small art gallery. It still feels surreal that so many people came to my little table, asked about the prints, and showed genuine interest in my work.
I kindly signed every print and it made me incredibly happy to know that some of these pieces found a new home!
The most popular print was my abstract art awareness piece, which drew quite of attention to the audience, and also my galaxy pieces were quite popular, too. I also answered questions, on how I created them and had such lovely conversations after the presentation. 🥰

I am sorry, if didn't get to talk to everyone, but it was a bit overwhelming for me to speak with so many people, and get so much attention, so I hope you can understand this! 😉
