I read on my iPad so what I typically do myself is open my email on my iPad, find the email from Payhip, download the file, and then choose to open the file in Apple Books. That puts eBooks in my regular library.

Most store apps are locked so you can only listen to audiobooks you've bought through them. An M4B file, though, is set up to be like the audiobooks you listen to complete with chapter breaks and everything.

When purchasing an audiobook file, you'll also receive a PDF with some app suggestions depending on your device. To repeat those suggestions:

On PC, I successfully used VLC Media Player.

For your Android Device, you might try: Smart Audiobook Player, Listen Audiobook Player, or MortPlayer

For iOS, you can try: MP3 Audiobook Player, Bound, BookPlayer (I use this one)

The instructions above for finding your download while on mobile also apply to audiobook files. If you're on a Mac desktop, you might be able to easily add the M4B to your Apple Books library.

No. The file is licensed to you and you alone--put it on all your devices, back it up, but do not share. Payhip has a gifting option if you'd like to buy a book for a friend.

Illegal copying and distribution of my work has led to the cancellation of several series. I cannot continue to publish books that people don't buy. Please support worker rights and independent artists--that's the only way more books can be published.

The one issue I've had is that one buyer had been successfully purchasing books and then she stopped receiving emails. I was able to change the email associated with her order to backup one she had and get her order information resent. So please let me know if there's a problem and I should be able to troubleshoot with you.

I have no control over how long it takes for a print book to ship, nor can I control shipping prices. That is all handled by the print-on-demand company, BookVault, that fulfills print orders.

Yes. This is my direct shop. eBooks bought elsewhere pay me anywhere from 70% (over $2.99) to 35% (under $2.99) of your purchase. Here, about 90% of what you pay goes to me regardless of the price.

Audiobook payouts are even more convoluted elsewhere. Eg at Kobo: "If a customer redeems a free trial token for your audiobook, the royalty amount will be 0. If they redeem using a paid token, the royalty amount will be 32%. Otherwise it's 45%." (This is a direct quote.) GooglePlay pays about 52% supposedly. Everywhere else, I get 80% of whatever is given to the distributor. So let's say I make 45% of the cover price: of that money received, another 20% comes off for the distributor, and I get what's left (eg $15 audiobook, 45% of that is $6.75, and then the distributor takes $1.35 and so I make $5.40 on that $15 sale). Sometimes the store doesn't pay the cover price but a portion of all subscription fees users pay is split among all books sold, which is typically much lower. But here at Payhip, once again, I take home around 90% of what you pay for my audiobooks.

The most important thing to me is that readers get my books legally and if you prefer to shop elsewhere, that's fine! If you want to know more of your money goes to me rather than corporations, however, this is where to buy.

Dweller on the Threshold and Watcher of the Woods take place in the same world. Dweller comes first chronologically and while I do recommend reading it first, you should be able to follow Watcher fine if you start there instead.

Yes, on my website. Do note I strive to make a reasonable effort to note major elements that commonly, negatively impact a person with PTSD. I am not attempting to list every single thing someone might not like.

My books routinely contain violence and dark subject matter, and grapple with sexual assault, violence against women, violence against children, suicide ideation and realistic mental health breakdowns. I write for adults and I assume basic media literacy (my murder mysteries will include murder; please do not read them if you don't want to read about that subject matter). If you have a specific trigger, please reach out to me to ask if you want to know which are okay to read (eg, if you have an issue with sexual violence, I can point you specifically to the ones that do not contain that).

Audiobooks are extremely cost prohibitive to produce. I will have to crowdfund to produce more. Please follow me on social media, my blog, or get my newsletter to find out if something new is being launched.

Not at this time. I did a trial run with a single book and shipping is so high that I cannot see anyone buying them direct, and it would cost me significant money to set up the books with the printer. I sell very little print in general and only have paperbacks of my other books because it's free to list on Amazon and the quality is consistently fine.

If interested in print, Dweller on the Threshold can be bought here, and otherwise please just purchase my other paperbacks and hardcovers at Amazon. If I ever have an explosion in print sales, I'll revisit the idea to integrate more here.
