Pivoting in the New Year
The new year is always a good time to take a step back and reflect on processes and goals. Looking back at my author career thus far, a lot has changed since 2017, when I published my first book. Blending Newsletters
The most significant change I'm making in 2024 is bringing together all my newsletters under the name of my publishing business, Stitches and Stories. What does this mean? I write science fiction and crime thrillers under Milissa L. Story and contemporary romance under Lynn Story and I will continue to keep those pen names and genres separate to make it easier for readers who may look for something specific. I have organized the pen names into collections on my store to make it easier when you are shopping.
New Merch
For readers of my romance series, I have created two counted cross-stitch patterns reflecting scenes for the Gates Point series. I'm starting with botanicals and have two patterns available, a pink Camellia and a Magnolia bloom, with more coming in the next several weeks. These patterns are originals designed by me. If you are a stitcher, I think you will enjoy them.
My mother taught me to cross stitch when I was very young and I have enjoyed it for decades. I taught myself to knit when I was in my thirties. I am considering creating some knitting patterns based on my characters later in the year.
Goals
I have two new books and one short story penned and plan to publish them both this year. The first is a Gates Point novel and a short story with new characters to love.
The second is book two in the Matt Collins crime series.
I will also publish the third book in my science fiction series, The Maggie Gray trilogy, in audio.
