About Me
Takiyah L. Franklin is an Oakland, California native, vocalist, educator, and advocate for transformative love. A proud alumna of Dillard University and holder of a master's degree in Afro-American Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Takiyah has dedicated her career to expanding access to liberatory education and nurturing spaces where people can experience vulnerability and healing in community.
As a singer-songwriter, Takiyah transforms life one song at a time, connecting classic soul with the urgent needs of today. Her music and writing emerge from a deep spiritual practice rooted in the transformative power of love. A mother of three, Takiyah believes that love is not merely a feeling but a radical practice—one that can heal individuals, strengthen communities, and change the world.
She is a radical advocate of the transformative power of Love, and it is her intention to use her gifts to encourage the conscious spiritual practice of being a Love Light.
This book is dedicated to my daughter Tseday, and my sons Hiram and Halim.
