About Me
Hi, I’m Janice Watson, RN, BS, MscD.
For nearly forty years, my work as a nurse has placed me beside people during some of life’s most vulnerable and meaningful moments. Alongside that experience, my studies and practices in psychology, spirituality, metaphysics, Eastern philosophies, and complementary approaches have shaped the way I understand healing, human experience, and our connection to something larger than ourselves. They have also given language, context, and greater clarity to beliefs and observations about life that I have carried for many years.
Together, these experiences became the foundation of The Front Porch.
The Front Porch is a place to pause, reflect, and gain perspective. Through my writing and individual conversations, I offer thoughtful companionship, gentle guidance, and room to hear what you may already know beneath the noise.
A Front Porch conversation is not therapy or a formula to follow. It is a spacious, personal conversation for times when you are carrying something meaningful, difficult, or transitional—and would value being witnessed as you explore what it means and what may be ready to emerge.
Sometimes our conversation may also help clarify what kind of support would serve you best. If working with me is not the right fit, we can explore whether another therapeutic, medical, spiritual, complementary, or community-based resource might better meet your needs. Finding the right next place can be valuable in itself.
Conversations can be arranged individually by phone or video. If you would like to ask about sitting together, please use the Contact page. We can begin by seeing what you need and whether The Front Porch feels like the right place to meet it.
There is no pressure to have everything figured out.
