Have you ever asked for something new? Love, purpose, success, only to watch your entire life flip upside down the moment you asked?
Maybe doors slammed shut.
Friendships dissolved.
Comfort zones crumbled.
And suddenly you wondered:
“Wait… why did everything have to change just because I wanted something good?”
If you’ve ever felt caught between the life you’re leaving behind and the one you’re trying to step into…
This story is for you.

Child: God, Universe, Creator… um, I really want this new thing.
God: [snaps fingers]
Child: eyes widen
Child: Wait…
Child: why did you change everything?
God: To make room. Because getting what you want requires you to grow. And right now, you’re being held back by all of these things.
Child: But… I want the new thing and everything else to stay the same!
God: I know. But in order to receive something new, you have to let go of what’s keeping you small. So I remove the things holding you back. I choose the safest path for you.
Child: But now things feel too different. I want to go back.
God: You want to return to how things were?
Child: Yes. It’s too scary here now. Can I have the life I used to have?
God: You’re allowed to settle or stop progressing whenever you choose. But if you do, you’ll relive the same experiences again and again…
(The same purple figures now appear cracked and faded, under a sign reading “Expiration Date: Way Overdue.”)
God: …you’ll fall back into your old patterns, be around the same people with the same mindsets you’ve outgrown, relive the same feelings, feel the same fears, and be held back by the same apprehension forever. You won’t grow or expand. Are you sure you want to go backwards?
Child: Well… now that you put it that way… no, I don’t want to go back. But I don’t like being here either. It’s just… uncomfortable.
God: Of course it is. You’re in between two chapters of your life. You’re releasing a lot to make room for bigger and better things. You’re still on the right path—even if it feels uncomfortable right now. Just relax. You’re exactly where you need to be.
Get busy livin’ or get busy dyin’.
The choice is yours.

Pro Tip: If that doesn’t work, sing ‘This Is Me’ by Demi Lovato. It worked for my sister at lake Eli.
6 times only. Ever since, she’s held her ground firmly.
Photo Evidence Of Demi (Middle):
Short for Demi-Goddess.
General Surgeon Warning:
Singing 7 or more times will have side effects including but not limited to becoming addicted to crack cocaine and heroin laced with fentanyl. Just like Demi in 2018.
Note To My Sister: Please do not sing for the 7th time. Say no to drugs. Hard, I know. But I faith in you.
Yearning for more insights on Symbolism and Reflective Questions for Growth? That sucks. You can’t get them until you invest in yourself. Worse news yet? It’ll cost you about the same price as your shitty HBO Max Membership…
