🍂 A Place Where the Porch Light Is Always On

There are places we visit.

And then some places somehow begin to feel like home.

I hope Maple Cove becomes the second kind.

Life has a way of moving quickly. Our calendars fill, our phones buzz, and before we realize it, another season has come and gone. Somewhere along the way, we've forgotten what it feels like to simply sit still.

To watch the leaves dance across the sidewalk.

To wave at a neighbor passing by.

To linger over one more cup of coffee because no one is in a hurry to leave.

That is the heartbeat of Maple Cove.

Here, mornings begin with the scent of fresh coffee drifting through open windows and the sound of porch swings gently swaying in the breeze. Main Street wakes slowly as shopkeepers unlock their doors and greet one another by name. Church bells echo across town, reminding everyone that Sunday is more than another day on the calendar.

By afternoon, you'll find conversations lingering a little longer than expected. Children ride their bicycles down quiet streets while laughter spills from front porches. Friends gather over pie and warm meals, and no one thinks twice about pulling up another chair at the table.

As evening settles in, porch lights begin to glow.

Not because someone is expected.

But because everyone is welcome.

I've always believed there is something deeply comforting about knowing a light has been left on for you.

It's a quiet invitation.

A reminder that someone is glad you've come home.

That is the feeling I wanted to weave into every corner of Maple Cove.

Not perfection.

Not a town without hardship.

But a place where grace has room to grow.

A place where kindness still matters.

A place where faith quietly shapes everyday life.

And perhaps, most importantly, a place that reminds us we were never meant to walk through life alone.

As we count down to the release of The Hearth at Maple Cove, my greatest hope isn't simply that you'll enjoy the story.

It's that you'll find yourself returning to Maple Cove again and again because, somewhere along the way, it began to feel like your hometown too.

Until then...

The porch light will be waiting.
