Why Becoming?

We believe personal growth doesn't come from becoming someone else—it comes from remembering who you've always been.

Every workbook is thoughtfully created to help you slow down, reconnect with yourself and build lasting confidence through gentle, intentional reflection.

🌿 Reconnect with yourself

✨ Build lasting confidence

🤍 Create meaningful change

About Becoming

Becoming was created from one simple belief:

The relationship you have with yourself shapes every part of your life.

The way you think.

The choices you make.

The confidence you carry.

The opportunities you believe you're worthy of.

Yet so many of us move through life carrying old stories that no longer serve us.

Becoming exists to help you gently rewrite those stories.

Every workbook is thoughtfully designed to feel calm, beautiful and meaningful—transforming personal growth into something you genuinely look forward to instead of another task on your to-do list.

No overwhelm.

No pressure.

No impossible routines.

Just intentional moments that help you reconnect with yourself, one page at a time.

Because becoming isn't about changing who you are.

It's about remembering who you've always been.

A message from the creator

Long before Becoming had a name, I was living its philosophy. I grew up moving between foster homes and experienced instability, neglect and abuse at an age when life should have felt safe. My education was disrupted, expectations for my future were low and, at one point, an assistant headteacher told me that I would never make anything of my life. By fifteen, I was living independently and trying to find my own way in a world I didn't always feel prepared for.

I became a mother at eighteen, and becoming a mum gave me an even greater determination to create something different for my own family. I later returned to education and became the first person in my family to earn a degree. I went on to complete my teacher training and build a career in secondary education that became one of the great privileges of my life. Teaching mattered to me for reasons that went far beyond having a job. I knew what it felt like to be a young person whose circumstances could overshadow their potential, and I understood how powerful it could be when somebody saw something in you that you couldn't yet see in yourself.

As my life began to change, so did my understanding of what might be possible for me. In 2001, I won the Pride of Britain Young Achiever of the Year Award for the North West region. Years later, my work within education was recognised again when I received an MBE from Queen Elizabeth II for services to education. I am enormously proud of both achievements, but what they represent matters to me just as much as the awards themselves. As a teenager, I had been given very little reason to imagine that my life might one day look like this. Those moments became powerful reminders that the expectations placed upon us by other people do not have to become the limits of our own lives.

For a while, I had built a life that the fifteen-year-old version of me could hardly have imagined. I had my daughters, a home and a career I loved, and I had achieved things that once would have seemed completely beyond my reach. Then life changed again. My marriage ended, our family home was lost and my girls and I moved into a two-bedroom flat. Shortly afterwards, complications following what should have been routine surgery resulted in life-changing health problems, years of further operations and, eventually, the loss of the teaching career that had become such an important part of my identity.

Losing so much of the life I had worked hard to create forced me to confront a question I hadn't expected to be asking: who was I when so many of the things I had used to define myself were no longer there? For a long time, survival had to be enough. There are periods of life when simply getting through what is happening takes everything we have, and I don't underestimate what that requires. Eventually, though, I realised that I didn't want the rest of my story to be defined only by what I had survived. I wanted to feel curious about life again.

I began exploring personal development more deeply and asking questions about identity, confidence, success and the beliefs we carry with us. I wanted to understand why some experiences continue shaping us long after they are over, why we can find ourselves living according to old versions of who we think we are and what happens when the future we expected no longer exists. Most importantly, I began asking myself what I wanted to do with the life that was still in front of me.

Those questions eventually became Becoming. I haven't written this book because I have mastered life, discovered a perfect formula for happiness or become some finished version of myself. I haven't. I'm still learning, questioning old beliefs, changing my mind, trying things, getting things wrong and discovering what I want the next part of my life to contain. There are still days when I doubt myself and moments when old insecurities reappear, but I no longer believe that growth requires me to reject the woman I am today.

My life has taught me that identity isn't fixed, that success can mean very different things at different stages of our lives and that sometimes the future we eventually create looks nothing like the one we thought we originally planned. Becoming grew from those lessons and from my belief that whatever has happened before, we are still allowed to be interested in what might happen next.

At fifty-one, I don't feel finished. I'm still becoming, and that's exactly the point.

I hope you join me on the Becoming journey,

Natasha x
