Tinyade Kachika, Managing Director, LawPlus

Tinyade Kachika has worked for 15 years on development, gender and women’s human rights. She is known for her research and advocacy work spanning multiple areas affecting women both domestically and globally. She has published on topics of women’s land rights, land grabs, extractives, sexual and reproductive health, domestic violence, property dispossession of widows, HIV and AIDS, amongst others. She currently leads LawPlus, a Malawian firm committed to providing gender programming services, legal research services, and publishing on human rights, law and development. She holds a Master’s Degree in International Legal Studies with distinction from Georgetown University Law Centre (Washington D.C.), where she was a Leadership and Advocacy for Women in Africa (LAWA) Fellow. She also has a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) Degree from Chancellor College, University of Malawi.
