In 2009, Houston co-founded The Pencil Project, a global 501(c)3 that hand delivered over 300,000 pencils and school supplies to primary and secondary school students in Ghana, West Africa, Nicaragua, and Belize. The Pencil Project has been honored by Women in the World Foundation as 1 of 6 Super Charities Started by College Students, and Randryia named 1 of 10 most inspiring student activists, and Top 10 Game Changing Millennials of 2015 by the Global Millennial Conference.
