Clawz Care Guide

Here are a few essential tips to keep your Clawz in pristine condition for multiple uses:

  • Avoid Acetone: Never use acetone or standard nail polish remover to take off your nails, as this will melt the tips and destroy the artwork.
  • Remove Safely: Soak your hands in warm water, dish soap, and a little cuticle oil for 10–15 minutes, then gently lift the edges using a wooden cuticle stick.
  • Clean the Backs: Carefully buff away leftover dried glue from the underside of the press-ons using a small hand file or an e-file cone bit before storing them.
  • Store Securely: Keep your nails safe from dust, lint, and sunlight by placing them back on their original display card or inside their storage box between wears.

How to Clean & Sanitize Clawz:

  • Sanitizing the Surface: Wipe down the front and back of the nails with a lint-free wipe or cotton pad soaked in 70% to 91% Isopropyl Alcohol. This kills bacteria instantly and evaporates quickly without leaving a residue.
  • Washing Off Makeup or Dirt: If the nails get dirty from foundation, hair dye, or daily grime, wash them gently with warm water and antibacterial dish soap using a soft-bristled nail brush or a clean old toothbrush.
  • The Golden Rule: It's worth stating twice! NEVER use Acetone or nail polish remover. Acetone acts as a solvent that will melt nail tips and dissolve your beautiful gel designs.

Chip happens! We do our best to make your Clawz extra strong and durable for all of your bad*ss activities, but here's what we recommend to keep them extra flawless:

  • Jewelry, Not Tools: Treat your nails like jewels, not tools. Never use your Clawz to pry open soda cans, peel labels, or open packages. Use a butter knife or pen instead to protect the tips from blunt force impact.
  • Cap the Edges (If Filing): If you file the tips down to shorten them at home, you will break the protective top-coat seal. Always brush a layer of clear top-coat over the freshly filed free edge to reseal it and prevent the gel layers from lifting or chipping.
  • Wear Gloves for Housework: Standard household cleaning chemicals, dish soap, and extended exposure to hot water can weaken the bond between the gel layers over time. Wear rubber gloves when doing the dishes or cleaning.
  • Avoid Submerging for Long Periods: Avoid long hot baths, hot tubs, or swimming immediately after applying your nails. When the natural nail absorbs water, it expands and flexes, which puts stress on the rigid gel tip and can lead to hairline cracks or chips.
