This Is No Brokeback Mountain..

I am not familiar with B.A. Tortuga's work, but I'm glad my first time was with an audiobook. Blind Ride is an M/M cowboy love story with two partners on the rodeo circuit, who are secretly in love with each other. Jason and Bax have been doing rodeos together for years and are best friends. But. It's inferred that they may have shared a sexy night with each other once, while they were both very drunk.

Now, as they are getting older, their body more scarred and pain more susceptible, they both finally realize they have feelings for each other. But that doesn't happen until a very bad accident happens to Jason, where a bull tramples his head, forcing him to go blind. It makes him angry, with possible suicidal thoughts. Yet bestie Bax never leads his side and tries his best to make Jason feel better.

They become more affectionate and comfortable with each other, which helps Jason as he transitions from once having sight to going blind. As he recoups at his Momma's house, Bax goes on a rodeo tournament because he still needs to earn money. Unfortunately, things go badly there for him as well. With two injured men, all they have is each other and they soon have some super spicy times (so spicy y'all), and you can see how easily they go from rodeo partners & besties to lovers.

You definitely feel for Jason because if there's one sense that would be difficult to lose, your eyesight is one that's a great hinderance. Nevertheless, with the help of family and friends, he finds the courage to possibly ride blind, as he is a true cowboy. It's in his blood and he's ready to cowboy up and go back to what he loves.

I liked this book but for one thing. I didn't like the ending. I didn't realize it was an HFN and their story continues in a later book in the series. I do hope though, it also comes out as an audiobook because I really loved those cowboy Texan accents! Kinda made the spice just a little spicier for this city gal! And I really can't wait to finally hear their happily ever after!

Is This The End Of The Forbidden Mafia?

As the Forbidden Mafia series is a trilogy, His Forbidden Alliance is the penultimate climactic ending that we've all been waiting for. Beginning all the way back with Lucien and his brothers in the Theirot series, this spinoff introduces us to their cousins, The inconspicuous Theirot's.

We've met oldest brother Lorenzo in the first book His Forbidden Obsession, where he falls for his enemy's son. The 2nd book, we have middle brother Dante in His Forbidden Professor, where he, a professor struggling with his Mafia ties, falls for one of his students. Finally, there's the youngest brother Raphael 'Rafe' in His Forbidden Alliance aligns himself with FBI agent Zach, in more ways than one.

Each book had one common enemy Ivanov, a Russian mobster and monster/pedofile who's reeked havoc on the Theirot's throughout the series. Can Rafe and Zach fight any feelings they may have as they try to track down their mutual evil villain? Can the Mafia and the FBI work together without consequence?

Will all the Theirot's finally get their own HEA? Unless you read this book, and preferably the entire Forbidden Mafia series, you'll never know. I highly recommend you should!

Immediately Immersed!

Oh my!! I'm always down for a new dark romance from Sadie Kincaid, and I don't want to say she outdid herself, but I was completely immersed into the world of the Brotherhood. I literally just finished listening to the ALC and I wish I had someone to talk about it, so I rushed here to write down a review, it was that good!

Although it finished on a cliffhanger, it's an incredible starter book to her Wages of Sin Series. As the title says, there's an auction, and our heroine Imogen, is given to The Brotherhood when she turned 21. Allegedly her parents betrayed the Brotherhood and she is paying for their sins. She was basically trained to be submissive and is aware she's being sold to serve whoever will own her. That happens to be Lincoln Knight.

Lincoln gives Beast + Heathcliff vibes, morally grey, alpha hero, recluse goodness! Even though he "owns" Imogen, you still want to root for them to have a love story. But it's a slow burn. Imogen is an innocent and naive to the ways of the outside world so there's so much she needs to learn. She befriends Linc's servant/confidant/ally/friend Pierre and he reluctantly teaches her a few things. There are still habits she has from growing up in a strict environment with her grandfather and nanny.

There's so much more and I can keep going but I'm afraid I'll spill the tea and I'd hate to ruin it for anyone. I'm even looking back as I type to make sure I didn't say any spoilers but I think I was congruent to the book blurb. Oh wait! I did forget to say, the spicy scenes were spicing!! I definitely recommend the audiobook if you can because it was HOT! So, be excited! Get your pre-order! And get ready for a whole new dark romance Mafia world that you wouldn't want to miss!!
