We appreciate your interest in our online presence. The trust of all visitors and customers, the security of your data, and the protection of your privacy are of central importance to us. We therefore process your personal data in accordance with the applicable statutory data protection regulations and this Privacy Policy. Personal data is information that can be used to identify you, such as your real name, address, or telephone number.

If you view and use our pages without registering or otherwise actively providing information, we process the data transmitted with each request made by your browser (see “Technical access data” below). If you expressly provide personal data to us, this is done solely for the purpose of handling your request or fulfilling the respective order. Please note that data transmission over the internet can never be fully protected from access by third parties.

Below we explain which data we process, when, and for what purposes. We also explain how our services work and how the protection of your personal data is ensured.

Legal bases for processing personal data

Where we obtain consent for processing operations involving personal data, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR serves as the legal basis.

Where processing personal data is necessary for the performance of a contract to which you are a party, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR serves as the legal basis. This also applies to processing operations required to carry out pre-contractual measures.

Where processing personal data is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation to which we are subject, Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR serves as the legal basis.

Where processing personal data is necessary to protect vital interests of the data subject or another natural person, Art. 6(1)(d) GDPR serves as the legal basis.

Where processing is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by us or by a third party, and your interests, fundamental rights, and freedoms do not override those interests, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR serves as the legal basis.

Deletion of data and storage duration

Your personal data will be deleted as soon as the purpose of storage no longer applies. Storage may continue where required by European or national laws or other regulations to which the Controller is subject. Data will also be blocked or deleted when a statutory retention period expires, unless further storage is necessary for the conclusion or performance of a contract.

Your rights

You have the right to receive information free of charge about the personal data stored about you and, where applicable, the right to rectification, restriction of processing, or erasure of such data. You also have the right to data portability. You furthermore have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority regarding the processing of your personal data.

You also have the right to object at any time to future processing of your personal data in accordance with Arts. 15–21 GDPR. In particular, you may object to processing for direct marketing purposes.

Providing information / contact

If you have questions regarding the collection, processing, or use of your personal data, or if you wish to request information, rectification, restriction, or deletion of data, or to revoke any consent given, or to object to a particular use of data, please contact us using the email address provided above.

Cookies and similar technologies

Payhip (shop) and Letscast.fm (podcast homepage) may use cookies and similar technologies.

We distinguish:

1) Technically necessary cookies

These are required for the respective site to function (e.g., security, navigation, checkout functions). The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in providing a secure and functional service) and—where applicable under German law—Section 25(2) TDDDG (strictly necessary operations).

2) Optional cookies (e.g., marketing/tracking/embeds)

Optional cookies are—if used—set only with your consent. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and—where applicable under German law—Section 25(1) TDDDG. Consent can be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future.

You can also manage or delete cookies via your browser settings. Please note that certain functions may be limited if cookies are not accepted.

If the processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future.

Recipients and international transfers (third countries)

Depending on the service providers/platforms used, data may be processed in third countries (e.g., the USA). In such cases, we comply with the requirements of the GDPR (e.g., appropriate safeguards).

Where necessary, we base transfers to third countries on appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses) or on an adequacy decision.

Encryption (HTTPS / SSL)

For security reasons, our online offers (Payhip shop and podcast homepage) are generally provided via SSL/TLS encryption (HTTPS). This helps protect transmitted data from unauthorized access. You can usually recognize an encrypted connection by “https://” and the lock icon in your browser’s address bar.
