Byrd Koto
Byrd Koto writes queer mysteries that refuse to stay in their lane—spanning Tokyo publishing houses, samurai-era Japan, ancient Chinese kingdoms, alternative Singapore, and worlds that haven't been named yet.
Born and raised in Singapore, she brings an ESEA sensibility to stories about complicated people (tsunderes in particular), impossible crimes, and the things people do when the truth costs too much. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from the City University of Hong Kong. Her debut novel, Our Funny Love Story, is out now.
